Health Claims (Pharma, Medical Device, Food, Cosmetic)
Products are as successful as the claims they can make. But new health claim regulations in Europe, and a tightening regulatory environment in the US can make it hard to know how:
- health claims on products are realized / developed
- which data is sufficient to ensure a health claim
- messages must be communicated without overstepping the line.
The manufacturer is responsible for health claims made on the product. If the manufacturer is outside the economic area, the responsibility transfers to the importer.
Health Claims are claims made by manufacturers on the label \ information of products that indicate which effect can be achieved by either supporting, treating, preventing or curing a specified health condition.
Every health claim must be Safe, Effective and True and may not be misleading!
Health Claims are limited based upon mechanisms of action and applicable regulations.
